Visiting SWLA

Southwest Louisiana is collectively branded as Visit Lake Charles. And what a brand it is!

In Lake Charles, you'll find classic Cajun and Creole cuisine, untouched marshlands, local festivals and festivities, high-rolling nightlife, music, incredible local shops, eateries, and breweries.

Downtown Lake Charles, a micro-destination unto itself, offers a culturally rich, activity-filled, historic area of Lake Charles that boasts great restaurants, stunning sunset lake views, parks and playgrounds, and locally owned boutique shopping, artisans and the Historic Charpentier District in a walkable atmosphere.

From golf greens and spas to horseracing and myriad dining options, you will fall in love with the variety of casino resorts in Southwest Louisiana. Each of our four casino resorts has luxurious accommodations, a wide variety of cuisines, top-name entertainment, and, let's not forget - incredible gaming experiences in store for you.

Your taste buds will thank you as you enjoy delicious Cajun/Creole food like gumbo, jambalaya, crabs, and boudin – Southwest Louisiana's favorite snack! Or you can try the local spirits at Bayou Rum and Yellowfin Vodka and craft beer at Crying Eagle Brewing Company, whose Bistro serves hot and delicious stone-fired pizza, which pairs perfectly with one of their cold brews. Don't miss out on the seemingly endless festivals— Smoke & Barrel, Louisiana Fur & Wildlife Festival, Christmas Under the Oaks, Chuck Fest, and Louisiana Food & Wine Festival, just to name a few—filled with music, food, and drink nearly every weekend of the year.

You owe it to yourself to dive into nature and explore outdoor adventures along the Creole Nature Trail All-American Road. The road features 4 wildlife refuges, walking trails into the marsh, Gulf beaches, and endless opportunities to reconnect with nature and unplug from the day-to-day. The Creole Nature Trail is one of only 57 All-American Roads in the nation, and the sunrises and sunsets along the marshlands and Gulf beaches boast some of the most brilliant shades of pink, orange, gold, and violet — and we haven't even talked about the alligators, birds and other wild things you will see!
